BROTHER FIRETRIBEN ”Live at Apollo”-dvd julkaistaan helmikuun 17. päivä Spinefarm Recordsin kautta. Live-dvd:n voi nähdä ennakkoon Helsingin Bar Bäkkärillä keskiviikkona 10.2. alkaen klo 20.00. Bäkkärin ikäraja on 18 vuotta.
Brother Firetribe on tähän mennessä julkaissut kaksi albumia: ”False Metal” (2006) ja ”Heart Full Of Fire” (2008). Jälkimmäisen albumin myötä bändi lähti Euroopan rundille ruotsalaisen Painin lämppärinä ja hioi livekuntonsa huippuunsa. Bändin iloinen ja intohimoinen lavashow tulee hyvin esille nyt julkaistavalla live-dvd:llä, joka on kuin kesäinen piristysruiske helmikuun lumikinosten keskelle! Helsingin Apollo-klubilla kuvatulla keikalla vierailee Nightwishin hurmaava Anette Olzon.

BROTHER FIRETRIBE - Heart Full Of Fire
The Finnish five piece around LEVERAGE singer Pekka Heino and NIGHTWISH guitarist Emppu Vuorinen created a big buzz with their fave raved debut “False Metal” and to be honest, their follow-up “Heart Full Of Fire” turns out even stronger. This album is pretty close to perfection and would deserve a rating of 100%, but this mark is only reserved for albums which stood the test of time. The total of nine absolutely fantastic melodic rock anthems and two great ballads takes BROTHER FIRETRIBE to the olymp of the current melodic rock scene, cause their material kicks out the sh** of the old dinos like JOURNEY, SURVIVOR and cohorts, which would die to write such breathtaking tunes these days ! |

Sometimes, something a little special comes along for fans of a bygone era. Finland's Brother Firetribe have really pulled out all the stops to deliver an album of glorious keyboard filled AOR that sounds more American in places than many American bands sound these days.
There isn't a note I don't like on this album and I find myself swept up into the rush of passionate songs and over the top harmonies every time I out it on.
A great album pulls the listener in and I simply cannot listen to this without the desire to sing along with every track.
The band has evolved since their debut album False Metal (now repacked and re-released as Break Out). That was a cracking debut, but this album has more of everything. More keyboards, more guitars, more hooks, more vocals and more energy. I think that last one of the key – more energy. The songs just burst through the speakers and beat your ears with the melodicbat.
The debut was great, but I found myself favouring singer Pekka Ansio's other band Leverage over that release. But this is just pure melodic magic and of the 2 Leverage and 2 BFT releases, I now have a clear favourite.
I think the band have found their groove and refined their sound. This time around the songs pull you in thanks to some wonderful chorus hooks and equally good verses, which provide great contrast to the soaring choruses.
I know this style of record will not be for everyone, but the 80s influence and keyboard drenched sound, coupled with layers of guitars and harmony vocals and songs that remind me of the glory days are enough to make this one of the best albums of the last few years – for me.
There are two sides to this record – but both blend perfectly together. There is the more dramatic and powerful side of the coin, which comes from the band's European influences and that heavy synth and somewhat symphonic approach Finnish bands have.
The opening rocker Who Will You Run To Now is a prime example, adding an instantly likeable chorus and a powerful vocal to top things off. The darker and moodier Game They Call Love fits this mold as does the pounding title track Heart Full Of Fire, which features a duet lead vocal with Nightwish's Anette Olsen and so many swirling keyboards.
The rocking Going Out With A Bang; the darker Out Of My Head and the closing big beat stomper I Am Rock are all part of this dramatic side to the band.
On the other side of the coin is something a little lighter – a great contrast to the darker moments – and that is some wonderfully commercial keyboard driven pop rock.
There is no better example on this album or perhaps anywhere than the glorious and engaging Wildest Dreams, which will be hard to beat for song of the year. This is what it is all about for me – passion, emotion and a chorus from heaven.
And while you spend 3 second bemoaning the end of this melodic gem, another fires up and drags you into its own world. Runaways is keyboard heaven circa 1985 and Pekka's raspy vocal is blissful. And yes…another chorus from AOR Heaven.
The album's big ballad is Play It From The Heart - a European sounding affair, moody and compelling and another great chorus. Heard It On My Radio is a track Gregg Giuffria would be proud to call his own. I haven't heard such fluffy keyboards since Giuffria's Silk & Steel.
And the cover of Chasing The Angels would make Mike Reno proud. More AOR glory.
The Bottom Line
My endorsement of this album is overwhelming. I love every track, I love every verse and every over the top glorious chorus. Commercial AOR at its very best without ever sounding dated in any way. I have no doubt some will be left scratching their heads but that is the beauty of the diverse readership of this site. But looking back Giant and Giuffria became pink and fluffy legends with material such as this.
What I will say is that if you are a die-hard Giuffria fan or just long for the days of classic keyboard filled AOR, then the sequel to Silk & Steel has finally been released and it is called Heart Full Of Fire.

Have we got news for you!
Honing up artworks is a never ending task – especially when we’re talking ‘bout a bunch of guys this good looking in pictures! It has taken plenty of sweet time getting the album package of “Heart Full of Fire” ready, but now it seems we can finally lock down the final album release date - “Heart Full of Fire” will be out worldwide on May 14th!
In Finland, the album will naturally be released by Spinefarm, and Europeans can buy the album through Spinefarm’s distribution partners.
In the UK and US however, we have new release partners: Spinefarm UK and Spinefarm US!
These recently founded Spinefarm’s sister labels have yielded good results in the past with Children of Bodom and Nightwish’s album releases, and their marketing and promotion will be sure to bring “Heart Full of Fire” available to even the smaller record stores across the States and the United Kingdom!

Brother Firetribe´s new album Heart Full Of Fire is ready to go! Torsti Spoof and Jari Mikkola did a fantastic job mixing the album at Studio Audio, making the album sound like a million bucks. Heart Full Of Fire was mastered by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers Studios.
First single "Runaways" with a cover version of Mike Reno song "Chasing The Angels" will be released February 27th.
The release date for the full album Heart Full Of Fire is April 2nd in Finland. UK release for HFOF and a revised version of their outstanding debut "False Metal (under a new moniker "Break Out" with bonuses) will be May 12th.
A second single "Heart Full Of Fire...And Then Some" will see the daylight in May. Track listing as follows:

Hi all,
It hurts me to say this but due to matters beyond my control and the total lack of support this show has received from the so-called fans; Thunderground is no more.
We left it as long as we could to allow for the late starters to buy their tickets but sadly this has not been the case.
Full refunds will be given to the fantastic people that supported this event and help with travel insurance and flight refunds will be freely given if people had booked flights and now need to cancel.
On a personal note; I’m totally done with this scene; after getting a line-up like this together and literally haemorrhaging money in order to bring this kind of show to the UK shores I am disgusted at the lukewarm response these bands have received. This was a once in a lifetime DREAM line-up.
My thanks go out to ARFM and AOR Heaven who helped out way beyond the call of duty – I will be forever in your debt.
Again, my sincere apologies go out to those that supported this event. I also hope this serves as a wake up call to those that think these shows will always be around. Please go buy tickets to either Firefest or Scrap Metal if you havent done so already. Support those shows.

BROTHER FIRETRIBE työstää toista albumiaan hikinauhat märkänä.
10 biisiä on jo demottu. Aikaa säästääkseen kundit äänittää samaan aikaan eri studioissa. Rummut on jo äänitetty 7 biisiin, kitarat 8 biisiin ja 5 biisissä on jo finaali koskettimetkin.. Loput rummut äänitetään heinäkuun aikana ja Emppu, Tomppa ja Jason hoitaa loput kitara, kosketin ja bassoäänitykset elokuussa.
Pekka astuu studioon laulamaan finaalit syyskuussa niinkuin Jason myös taustalaulu osuutensa.
Lopuksi albumi mixataan ja masteroidaan lokakuussa.
Albumia edeltää tammikuussa ilmestyvä sinkku "Runaways", jonka lisurina on "Chasing the Angels", MIke Renon kappale elokuvasta "Iron Eagle II".
